  1. Confidence is 90+% competence-based: knowing what you are capable of. It’s getting to the stage where you have succeeded enough that you to feel competent that causes most of the problems.

    1. I find running mental simulations ahead of time can do wonders for this. You can get a lot of “experience” by working through possibilities in advance, so that you feel like you can handle them.
