How we talk about ourselves has a major impact on our mood, confidence, health, and stress management. When you say something bad about yourself, even as a joke, it reduces your confidence, changes the way you think, and reduces other people’s respect fro you. I often challenge people to only say positive things about themselves (or limit themselves to honest descriptions, when they have to talk about their limitations.)
Changing the way you speak changes the way you think for the better; you will find your confidence goes up, your stress goes down, and people respond to you in a positive manner. It can be a great first step for improving your self-respect and personal presence.
